She said Yes!

So Evelyn and I had a very eventful weekend! Evelyn and I got engaged! It was our 1 year anniversary on Oct 31 (we didn't plan on it being Halloween, it just happened that way). We had a great day planned! We went to West Edmonton Mall to go shopping, then we came back and cooked. We made a 5 course dinner, including a tossed salad, butternut squash soup, shrimp cocktail, sweet and sour meatballs and rice, and homemade truffles (made with Bernard Callebaut® chocolate). We had a coffee course which would have been hot chocolate, Kahlua, and homemade whipped cream except that there was just NO way we could fit it in.

After dinner we had planned on having our 1 year anniversary gift exchange! However, her brother came home early and I had to let him in on the secret about my gift so that we could have a little more time. Thankfully, he gave us the needed privacy and only made Evelyn slightly suspicious as to what I was up to!

Without giving too many of the details away, let me just say that I presented Evelyn with the ring and she joyously accepted! Now we just have to deal with the small matter of planning the wedding. However, that is something that we will work on together and therefore I have no doubt that everything will work out admirably. I love you, Evelyn. We are a great team!
