Happy New Year everyone! Wishing the best for everyone in the upcoming year.
Personally, this year is going to be the most exciting year I've had yet! I finally got a contract job working in exactly the sort of thing that I want to be involved in. It's SO great to finally be doing what I want to and what I've been trained to do! I really enjoy programming and though I just started I'm really looking forward to this upcoming project! So wish me luck!
I'm also signed up for the JET programme! Evelyn and I both got interviews to go over to Japan to teach English, which is very very exciting. If we manage to impress the interviewers we'll be heading to Japan July 28, 2006! The only hitch with this plan is that it was depending on whether or not I find a good job. If I find a job I really don't want to leave it after looking for one for years! Of course, the thing about that is that I have already found the job. It's contract work, however, so I still have to show them that I'm a good person to have around before I get a full time position. Hopefully everything goes well with the job, though that would mean we won't be heading to Japan...at least not this year.
Evelyn will also be finishing up her Masters degree this year! She's hoping to get everything done for June, which is really pushing things. However, I know that she has the ability to push through and get something like this done in time. I may not be able to do something like that, but what can I say? She's amazing. Good luck Evelyn! Whatever happens I'm proud of you!
Saving the best for last, everyone should know by now that Evelyn and I are going to be married July 22! Yes, that is just a week before we're leaving for Japan, which is going to be interesting in itself. We have a LOT of work to do before everything is arranged for the wedding, but I'm sure we'll get everything done in time! How exciting! I love you Evelyn! There's no one else I'd rather spend the rest of my life with.
Yes, this year is definitely shaping up to be the best, most memorable year of my life!
